Reviews
Kampong Express is a great option to grab a quick bite for lunch or early dinner. The food is good value for the money. We stopped by for dinner before heading to the cinema, we had the pan fried chicken and shrimp dumplings and curry samosas as starters. And for mains we tried the hainan chicken, nasi lemak beef, and the double egg and ham jian bings. The dumplings were super crispy and the meat was well made. Jian bings are a little underseasoned, so I suggested getting some add-ins to make up for that. Overall the food is tasty, and the portions are decent. The service is fast and we had no issues.
The place is quite small, more like a takeout place than a sit-down restaurant so it might be tough to get a spot. I'd recommend it if you're looking for some quick snacks.
Food was delicious, and it was an entertaining experience to eat in the tiny shop. A bit pricey for the level of service (ordering via qr code). The people working there don't seem to speak Dutch or English, and even asked a seated customer to take the phone and translate for someone calling in. That was kind of funny.... I would probably come back! The chicken was a bit cold, but maybe thats how it's supposed to be?
I ordered Hainan chicken rice, Laksa noodle, Fried tofu, and Jiang Bing for takeout 🥡 the food was placed separately in different containers rice, chicken, noodle, soup. The chicken was heavenly tender and juicy, the rice was flavorful. The Laksa noodle was a bit too salty for me but that means I can add more water in it to make it bigger! The soup was very authentic and yummy. Fried tofu comes with sauce on it which makes it great! Overall a great place to have Malaysia Cuisine!
Small eatery in city center with delicious Malaysian food. Unfortunately not a lot of tables to sit. Ordering went easy by phone. The Malaysian coffee was really good, as well as all the dishes we had. Seafood Laksa, Hainan chicken rice, nasi lemak sate, cucumbers and chicken dumplings. Will definitely come back for the tasty food.
This is a small eatery just off the main road, easy to miss. Once inside there a only a few tables and you order via QR code. The chicken laksa was unreal..the soup was perfect and the chicken felt generous. Prices are around €16 for a dish..
Easy to miss off the main road shop. Food is delicious and come out in good timing. Would wish the god to be a little spicier but that’s a personal preference. Would come back again!
Tucked a few steps down a narrow side street, this cleverly decorated Malaysian serves a wide variety of rice plates on banana leaf, laksa noodle soups, and Chinese-Malay appetizers.
Nasi lemak beef rendang, a flavorful combination of spicy beef stew, fluffy coconut rice, peanuts, bean sprout-cucumber salad, hard boiled egg, crispy anchovies and sanbal — well-rounded satisfaction.
Spicy chicken thigh appetizer, though big on chilli, lacked much of any other flavor, be it pungent or acidic — leaving the palette coated in oil.
Overall, a good dining experience. Though a return only likely if in the neighborhood and convenient.
As a malaysian, I approve. I came to this restaurant so jet lagged after coming from Canada. The workers were both so friendly and chatty. The taste of the food surprised me. I have never had this taste of peppery nasi ayam soup in Europe. It was delicious. The chicken itself was moist, seasoned perfectly. The sauces on the side were perfect. As a chicken rice connoisseur I did not expect one of the better chicken rice I had outside of Malaysia to be in Rotterdam of all places. 🤗 Hope to come again if I return to Netherlands
